pronounced "Pres - kit" by the locals
was designated as "Arizona's Christmas
City” by Governor Moffard. Summers are
cool and winters are mild with snow now
and then. The 2010 census revealed a
population of 39,843.
In 1864 Prescott was designated the
capital of the Arizona Territory.
"Whiskey Row" was known for housing
brothels, saloons, and gambling. Today
it still exists but now filled with
quaint shops, eateries, and a few bars.
Prescott was also visited by famous
gunfighters like Wyatt Earp, Doc
Holliday and others. There are over 800
buildings on the National Register of
Historic Buildings surrounding Prescott.
Visit the downtown area and Mount Vernon
Avenue to see some of these beautiful
